Maharani in Munich

Very dishonest.

It is a mystery to me how this restaurant can get such high ratings. We ordered Malai Kofta through Lieferando. The food was an insult to Indian cuisine. The sauce was plain whipped cream with curry powder. Light yellow and liquid. There was a black hair in the vegetable ball, the rice was dry and bland. The food came almost cold. All in all, very disappointing. We won't try Maharani again.

First of all, we waited forever to be picked up - the food was freezing !! And secondly, nowhere in the world is Mushroom Masala with cream sauce - and still listed as vegan. But with red sauce. I used to like to order, but now never again. There are a thousand other Indians in Munich.

Clean and friendly staff

Service friendly, ambience of traditional European Indian styles .. how often a very long menu, unfortunately the chosen dish was more or less meaningless. The beer wasn't very cool, but only marginally.

Not the best place ambience wise. It looks old fashioned and they need to change that. But, the food is great. As an Indian I can say the food is definitely good and you can ask them to make it "Indian style". The employees were also friendly.

Good food at reasonable prices with a quirky owner!

Very friendly and attentive waiter. The food was delicious. I haven't seen such cheap drink prices in Munich for a long time.

Ordered by phone and it was super quick - we didn't even have to wait ten minutes. Very fair prices, large portions and really delicious!

Prices are okay. Servings too. We had ordered to pick up and found the service very nice and friendly both on the phone and at the pick-up. When the conversation partner noticed that we only order vegan main menus, he proposed to make the starter vegan. Very attentive. Collection was possible ten minutes after ordering wow!

We go there again and again (since 2004!). Most often take like the lunch buffet (one of the few that also offer it on weekends). Today there was no buffet due to Corona, so we had a la carte. Good and fresh, as always, not overpriced and the staff is friendly. Until next time!

Very unfriendly service - we were asked very unfriendly whether we had no time because after 20 minutes we asked where the beer ordered was. The beer came but was warm. We asked for water for our dog and the waiter refused to put anything on us. The next tables were also turned on stupidly, and food and drink orders were forgotten. I have never experienced something like that. Food was very tasty, therefore 2 stars. Still never again !!

I was alone. I wanted to pay by card. The owners language: €15 card payment karoge? Next time se itana kam paise ho please cash se pay kardo. Food: 3 out 10 Owner's attitude: 0 out of 10 Ambiance 7/10 Staff: 1/10 (He is alone who cares. Not single time staff approched me if I need anything else).

The quality of food has deteriorated over time last one year. This is 1 out of 10 star restaurant. Ambiance is good.

Solid Indian cuisine with good value for money. We will be back.

I used to order take aways from Maharani a couple of times and the food is good. However some of the staffs attitude is really bad and you feel as if they are paying for your food. I was getting responses like " we dnt have this " and " you dnt know what you ordered, you dnt even know where you placed your order etc". I mean seriously , who are these guys? Some Michelin starred celebs? Due to few such unprofessionals the genuine and hard-working staff is also getting affected. May be the restaurant management should teach some good manners to your staff especially the ones who attend phone orders. Not matter how good the food is, if a customer feels unwelcome then that's pretty bad.

It was a nice restaurant, the waitress was very nice and the food was a lot and very tasty. The Chicken Tikka had lots of vegetables and was fantastic!

Maharani is a wonderfully authentic Indian restaurant here in the neighborhood. The food is always delicious and the waiters are very nice! I can only recommend!

A restaurant with a great atmosphere, attention to detail and cleanliness. The service was friendly and without any complaints. The starter was delicious. We had two main meals, one was awesome, taste etc was really incredible. At the second dish we were a little disappointed, it was rather bland and didn't taste (hence the deduction of points). Nevertheless, I have to say that the restaurant is great and I can totally recommend it.

Across the 6 cities of Europe that we covered during 2019 trip of ours - covering Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Budapest, Bratislava and Munich - and all the places where we ate Indian food, we found Maharani far superior to everything else. Great quality food, wonderful service. Excellent ambience. Loved it

Fake advertisement about a lunch buffet for 7.50 Euro, then they want you to pay additional 2 Euro for a drink even if you do not want to order a drink. They say, the drink is a must and you have to pay 9.5 Euro regardless if you want a drink or not ! The owner is very rude.

Knowing the Maharani restaurant in Rottmanstraße, I expected something similar. Unfortunately not. The service, decoration, and music are not extraordinary. Chiken Mango: the rice is dry and therefore quite medium, the sauce tastes like sauces already prepared, the meat is good. I'm not disappointed or cheerful, I expected better.

The staff is wonderful; they serve you a great experience. Food was tasty and fair portions for its prices! The atmosphere is cosy, warm and the place is quiet and clean.

Highly recommended Indian restaurant in a great location. The food was excellent and the service very fast and courteous. The Maharani also offers a buffet, I really want to try this! Clear recommendation anyway.

Horrible experience, they asked me to not order from Pizza.de as they take a cut out of the price of the food and also it's written on their menu that mango chutney is provided if you order directly. But neither the usual 10% discount was offered nor the mango chutney was delivered. And to top it all the person on the phone tells me to order from pizza.de from next time. The icing on the cake, the food that was delivered was bad as well, not horrible but simply bad, lacked taste, asked for Indian spicy that was not even done and too much salt! Never again!
